C-130 in Honduras

Honduran Air Force received five C-130s for the assistance given to the US Government during the Nicaragua civil war in the 80s, where the "Contras" were aid by the US Government and the honduran air bases were extensively used for the delivery of arms and supplies. Even some Hercules with US markings were operating under honduran command in so called "training operations".

First aircraft was received in 1986, a C-130D (FAH-556), and crashed same year near Wampusirpi in Honduras. The other four were ex USAF C-130As (FAH-557 to 560), with two of them operation out of Tocontin AB at Tegucigalpa; one is in non-operational status at La Ceiba AB and the last one apparently operates out of Palmerola AB.
